| My dad, Jack Walsh (Top Left ) played organ and tenor sax; and Paddy Foley played guitar. Jack was a member of the original ITGWU band since 1956 before becoming their Principal Conductor in the 1980's. Under his leadership, they won the National Brass And Reed Championships no less than three times. And, as a member in the 50's, they won the world Brass and Reed Championships in Kerkrade, Holland In 1958 representing Ireland. Darren Walsh, Nov 2005 |
